8th Chapter: System of attendance - absence – holidays

Article (55)
Attendance always:

  1. Students' commitment to attend classes at the specified time without delay is part of the composition of their professional personality and they must make an effort to maintain it, and members of the faculty to strengthen it.
  2. If the student delayed to attend within the first ten minutes of the beginning of the theoretical or practical lesson is a delay and the student will be considered late.
  3. Each student's two-time delay will be considered as a one-day absence.
  4. If the student attended 10 minutes after the start of the lesson will be considered absent.
  5. The new students are provided with a copy of the manual of the quarterly semester system to be aware of all the information related to this system. The student should read the weekly lecture schedule and the final exam schedule through the department.
  6. Students are informed of attendance and absence and the need to adhere to the completion and achieve at least 70% of the total attendance rate for each one.

Article (56)
Percentage of Attendance:

  1. attendance in theoretical lessons is considered mandatory and the student is expected to adhere to attendance 100% in the theoretical lessons, and if the student missed more than 30% with or without an excuse, he will be deprived of the exam.
  2. Students are required to attend 100% of the lessons and practical training during the two semesters and the summer semester. If the student misses more than 30% of any practical course with or without an excuse, this student will be considered unsuccessful in practical subjects. Therefore, he must re-submit the course fully.
  3. The attendance and absence ratio for each course is calculated separately. If there are theoretical and practical hours in the laboratory and the hospital for the course, then the percentage of attendance and absence is calculated from the total number of hours.
  4. It is up to the Council and the relevant committees of the college to study the absence of students for compelling reasons which exceed the percentage specified in paragraph (a) and (b) of this article. The possibility of the student making the exam and how to compensate for the missed educational goals. This percentage should not exceed 35% of the courses (both theoretical and practical).
  5. The summer semester for students of medical colleges is compulsory and is considered as part of the academic year and practical experience that the student must acquire it. The previous rules are applied in terms of attendance, and the graduation certificate is awarded only after compensation.
  6. Registration of the student in the college holds only the status of the regular student, and this student may not study in college as an affiliation.
  7. The date of beginning and completion of the study for each semester shall be announced by the Office of Study and Examinations after it has been approved by the College Council and approved by the Chairman of the MEC.
  8. There shall be a holiday between the fall and spring for at least two weeks.

Article (57)
Rules for reporting absence or illness:

If the student is not able to attend the theoretical or practical lesson for any reason, he must inform the official before the class, and he must:

  1. If he/she is sick on the day of the practical or theoretical course, he/she should be examined by the accredited doctor at the college.
  2. If the student is absent due to illness, he/she must submit a certified medical report authenticated by the doctor within 48 hours of his/her return to the college.
  3. If his/her absence is due to an emergency other than illness, he/she must provide a formal explanation to the administration within 48 hours of his/her return to the college.

Article (58)
Annual Leave:

Students are allowed the following holidays in each academic year:

  1. A vacation between the first and second semesters is determined in the annual calendar.
  2. Vacation between the second and third semesters (summer) determined in the annual calendar.
  3. Holiday between the third semester (summer) and the first semester of the New Year.
  4. Sick leave, not exceeding 7 days during the academic year.
  5. A special leave for a three-day family death may be granted upon written request from the student.
  6. Special leave for student marriage of 5 days.

Article (59)
Justified Absence:

Absence is justified in the following cases:

  1. Sick Absence supported by a duly certified medical report.
  2. Death of a relative of the student or his/her spouse or one of his brothers, providing a document confirms this.
  3. A compelling circumstance or an emergency that requires absence.
